POST 10 >> ENGLISH LANGUAGE CHALLENGES

Hi everybody! Today will be my last post 😩 And that is why Im going to do a recap about my experience learning english here in the university. In general, has been an excellent experience, i learn little details that helps me a lot about the pronunciation and connecting sentences, also, our teacher, Claudia Marquéz, made all of her class very dinamic, i mean, like in school.. with listenings, talk activities and made us participe in the classroom. Besides, every Thrusday we work in this blog! I found that this is a very innovate an interesting way to teach and learn english. I hope that the future generations works in this type of blogs too.

I think that in my case, i need to improve my pronuntation, i mean, i understand the most of the things i hear i english, but, when i have to answer, i can found the words in my mind but Im not shure about how to say it properly, so, a way to improve this in the summer will be to watch series and movies in english (without subtitles) and also listen songs in this language, i think that those activities will helps a lot to my pronuntation.

To be honest, outside the english class I dont use to speak in english so much, only when i have to establish a conversation with a person who his natal language is english (that rarely happens). Also i really like to sing songs in english so that can count too, right? And last but ot least, i try to teach my little son about this language, and this far he allready know how to count to ten and almost all the colors! Mateo is so smart 💖

I'm very grateful about all the things i learn in this semester!

POST 9 >> CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

Welcome again everybody! This Thursday Im gonna talk about my career, specifically the thing i would change about my study programme. 

In general, the career here in the Universidad de Chile is very complete, in fact, that is one of the reason this university was my first choice. For example, there are subjects that have a very close relationship with the career, like in "Introducción a la Gestión Pública" or "Evolución y complejidad de la Administración Pública". This two are subjects that i already took and they was very interesting. But also exist subjects that are so unnecessary.

I always believe that 5 years is a very long time to finish a career. Also, this 5 years do not count the process of degree. I mean, in total would be 6 years 😱 That's a lot for me! But, everyone said "the time flies"  and Im already here so i have to focus! I think that maybe 4 year has to be the maximum, is the precise time.

A think i definitely believe is necessary to change is the infrastructure of the building, for example, the library is so small and the green areas are very poor, there is a backyard that has a lot of potencial. But is kind of abandoned, and the space back there is not big enough for all of us. Besides, the so-called "casino" in here is only a type of tent for events, and in this time of the year is very hot in there😓

About the technology, in general its great, but exist things that are very necessary and there's not enough, for example the printers, they are only two for all of the students! Worse still, only one is working. They are teachers that are very great in here, i can notice that they i have a lot of vocation. But, also they are terrible teachers! And isn't a way of remove them.

POST 8 >> SUMMER PLANS

Hi you all!
Since summer ☀  is coming, is necessary to talk about the plans we may have. In my case, i will spend almost all my vacation working 😢. I work in a supermarket (Tottus), but fortunately i choose my own schedule (the days and the hours a i will work, and i prefer going in the morning only) so that allows me to have more freedom and i can take a few days in the week for going to the beach or camping, for example.

I would like to go camping with my friends, their childs and my son, to Cajon del Maipo. That is a plan we make every summer with my friends, an also, in another opportunity we will go camping but without childrens, so we can be more relaxing jaja

Another thing i would like to do in the summer is go visit my grandparents to San Sebastián (V Region). That beach is not far from my home and every summer with all my family we go more than once. My grandmother have little cabins in back there so we can stay in her house without a problem. Besides, near my home there are many activities i can make with my son, my friends and obviusly my family. So there is no need to travel so far to spend quality time this vacations.

Like i say before i will work like 3 or 4 days in the week, to cover all my expenses. And my plans for studing are "take a break please", i mean, i will not read a single word if their are no "memes" or a child book jajaja Well, i hope you all have a great time this summer, and remember there is a little time left studing, so.. be encouraged!

POST 7 >> MY FAVOURITE BOOK

Hello everybody! Today im going to write about my favourite book. To be honest, when i was a child i really enjoy reading, but after school, the time i spend in books go down, i mean I love reading but I don't get to read as much as I would like. My favourite author is J.R.R Tolkien. He mainly writes fantasy epic novels, that is my preffered kind to book for read. He is my favourite author because he wrote the saga off my favourite book "The lord of the rings", but i have to confess that i read this book after i saw the first movie.

My father, 13 years ago (I was 10 back them), came gome with the DVD of the first movie "The fellowship off the Ring" and i love it, so i ask for my dad to buy the book for me. Since there i couldn't stop reading "The lord of the Rings", after i finished the last book of the saga, i read "The Hobbit", the prequel of the history. I really enjoy this type of books because they treats topics about beautiful fantasy, i mean like elfs, hobbits, and a lot of mythological creatures.

The last book i read was for my son jajaja this was "The AKU AKU and they nap of summer" (Bilingual Rapa Nui-Spanish children's literature). Was an interesting book and i really like it. I adore read for Mateo, before he goes to sleep moustly, and he really enjoy listening to me 💗💗💗. Right now i only read texts for the university and kids books. But i hope that in the future i get more time for read books i choose for me.

POST 6 >> POSTGRADUATE STUDIES

Hello again everyone!

Today, a will write about my interest in making a posgraduate studies. In the university im studing in, when you graduated you have the chance off doing a master, a THAT is what i want. They give you two options: political science and public management. I want to do the master in public management. As I had mencioned it in the previus post, in the future i would like to work in a embassy, and in my opinion, public management sounds a lot more interesting then political science to do this job.

Since i was a child i dreamed about going abroad and study, hopefully in a country where English is the main language, to improve my level of it. But, this plans are posponed (and change), because i have a 3-year-old son and NO WAY i am travelled without him. So, for that reason i prefer to do the Master here in Chile. But in the future of course i will live in another country for work.

I considered myself like a fast-learning person, but i need to be the most of the time face to face with the person who is teaching me, that is why i would like to study in a blended system, when i get the chance to learn in a classroom and also by internet, and be able to validate study an family time.

Also, but in a long-term plan, i want to get in the diplomatic academy, and for that i really have to study a lot. So, for now, im focused in my short-term plan and finished my actual career, and next to that do the Master in public management.

POST 5 >> MY FUTURE JOB

Welcome again everyone!

I'm gonna tell you about the job i would like to have in the future, honestly, given that i'm only in first year, i didn't thought it so much. But, one of the job i definitely want to get one day is in the embassy of any county (but will be nice if is a nice one jaja) representing Chile. I imagine myself making deals with other embassies for the sake of my own.

So, i prefer to work outdoor and in a constant interaction with other people. In 2013 i studied "Public Relationship", so i think that i have the skills to manage this type of situations. And a job when you will always in a office doesn't work for me. One of my dreams in life is to travel a lot, and being a ambassador is an ideal type of job for me, also you need to learn other languages, and i'm very interested to do that. About the salary, obviously i want a pay according to my knowledge, and one that allow me to satisfy the needs of me and my son. 

To get this job, yo have to enter into the academy of ambassadors, and is a very difficult challenge, for that i want to specialize in international relationship an also in public international law. This is a long-term objective, i have to finish my actual career before.

I really want this typo of job because the motivation i have to make a difference in serving the community and contributing to make the world a better place. So.. LETS GE IT STARTED 💪

POST 4 >> FOOD

Hi everyone! Now im going to talk about my favourite food, this are EMPANADAS, but not any empanada, Im referring to the ones my mom makes. Mostly fried cheese empanadas. They are excellent i think, honestly, that my mom have a gift to cook it 💜

I like cooking, but sweet food, like cakes, pies or pancakes, easy stuff. And because my family and i really like this kind of things. In the university i usually eat regular food (like chiken and rise with a salad) in a specific restaurant, but i dont remember the name of it. 😕 The have a good menu, cheap and you can pay it with the JUNAEB, that is why i prefer to eat there.

I dont have a favourite restaurant, actually, i dont usually go out for food, only when my parents invite my, but if i have to choose i really like Subway. They have delicius sandwiches. But being honest i think that the best option for eat will be always home cokeed meals.

POST 3 >> MY FAVORITE FILM

Hello Everyone!

My favorite film is INTERSTELLAR💫, this is a science fiction film directed by Christopher Nolan. One of the reasons that it is my favorite is because the main character is Mathew McConaughey, in my opinion one of the best actors in Hollywood.

Interstellar has a very realistic view of the future that is comming to us, starting by showing how our planet is agonizing, and where the humanity is struggling to survive. The protagonist, Cooper (Mathew McConauguey) is an astronaut who has the mission with a group of astronauts to travel through a wormhole in search of a new home for humanity.

This movie has a very professional production, the especial effects and the space graphic that is shows leaves you breathless, also Interestellar give to the spectator a lesson of life. That is very important to look after the enviroment now or will be too late for other generations.

I really like to watch science fiction movies, i think they are very interesting and entertaining, also i like cartoon movies, like COCO, that is the last one i saw, i watched it with my brothers and son. I really recommend it because gives you a beautiful message about family love. (This film make me cry jaja)

To recap, if you didn't watch Interestellar yet you MUST DO! Is excellent, in fact, this film won the Oscar for best special effects with 5 other nominations.

POST 2 >> THE BEST HOLIDAYS

Welcome again!

Today I'm going to write about the best holidays I ever had. This went in September of 2010, and was about 15 days of vacation. My family and I traveled to Orlando, USA. We went with my little brothers best friends family too.

We did a lot of things, like shopping and toured around the city, also we went to a few of Disneyland's parks, for example Thipoon Lagoon, Animal Kingdom and my always favourite, Magic Kingdom. This was the second time i went there, but the first time i was only 5 years old, so i dont remembered so much, but a thing i will never forget is the Cinderella's Castle and show of Magic Kingdom.

These it has been the best so far because i have the oportunity of enjoy almost all of the games and rouller coasters in the parks, also we spend a lot of quality family time here and have a lot of fun!

One of my dreams will be return to this place with my son, no matter how old you are, you will have a perfect time. 

Now.. A curios fact about Mickey Mouse 😍 You know that him was the first cartoon ever to had a star of fame? I think he really deserve it. Is one of my favourite characters of Disney World. And yours?

POST 1>> A COUNTRY I'D LIKE TO VISIT

Hello everyone! Today im going to talk about a country i dream to visit, CANADÁ!

But.. Why? The principal reason is because i love the natural landscapes that it have, for example, the Niagara's Watterfall is what interests me the most. What i know about this country is that in that nation exist and advanced culture imbued whit national identity, protection and care about the enviroment (the opposite of Chile😢), i know that because my older brother lived in this country for about 10 months, and he told me all the positive things that this country have.

The firts thing i would do if i go there, will be explore, do a long train journey when i can have the opportunity to see and visit as much as i can.

Did you know that Canada have the most quantity of lakes in the entire world? 😨                        

My dream will be live in this country with my son, despite the cold, because is one off the best country if we talk about work, health and education. A curious fact, Canadá is the second country with the cleaner air in the world, furthermore, the 31% of it surface is composed by forest. I love to spend my free time in the outdoors with Mateito, and this country will be the perfect destiny to achieve this. (As long we are dressed warmly)

PRACTICE POST >> SOCIAL MEDIA

Hello everyone!
Today we are gonna discuss about how safe is to share in the social medias our personal information, well... that depends on each person, but we already know about cases when people's accounts were hacked and the hackers disclose the information (bank accounts, photos, address, etc) to the world.

I think, that today is very important to have at less one social media, in my personal case, i dont like very much Facebook, but i have to use that for my work (turns taking for a supermarket), and i use too for share photos of my son with my grandparents (yes, they don't use whatsapp).

My limit well be always have private accounts,  that means that i can get to choose who can see the thinks i share, and the principal reason is because i share a lot of pictures of Mateo, my son, he is so beautiful i cannot avoid it!

My favorite social media is Instagram, because i like the idea to express thinks only by pictures, and today almost everyone have one. But the aspects of my personal life that a i dont like to share is for example my addres, my telephone number or to publish where i am all day.
